Dont ask!!! "Who came up with this and why" is a legitimate question. Produced by Majorette of France in the mid-to-late '80s. 1:60 scale diecast model of the Ferrari 288 GTO. One of a series of "Extreme Animals" models, some based on real vehicles, some completely fictional, that were half animal; a precursor to Transformers. Somewhat elusive in 1:43 scale till Old Cars began making replicas in the 1990's (?). Smaller 1:64 and HO scale transporters have been available since the 1970's. Nicely detailed 1:18 Scale model by Hotwheels, with removable roof to show model in open or in closed position. This version, with light interior, appears to be somewhat elusive and harder to find than the black interior "George Michael" edition.
