Ferrari periodically organises exhibitions of its cars around a specific theme. One of these considers the models whose name contains the number 250 followed by letters or a name. Numbers are used regularly by the company to refer to the engine capacity and/or the number of cylinders. In the specific case of the 250, it represents the capacity per cylinder of a VI2 engine whose total capacity was therefore 3 litres. We could say that this was Ferrari's most successful engine, because it remained in production for over twelve years and powered a vast number of racing and CT cars. Twenty-five of them are described in this catalogue.
