MILLE MIGLIA 1927 - 1957 (1961) The Mille Miglia was discontinued following the accident of Alfonso DePortago, who died along with his co-driver and nine spectators, and the fatal accident of Joseph Gotgens. Rally style races were held between 1958 and 1961, but with much reduced speed.
